Study Story - David & Marion Njeru
Qualifications: Masters of Ministry and Diploma of Counselling
CUC: Why did you choose your degree and what do you enjoy the most about it?
David: We moved to Mudgee in July last year after working in London for 2 &1/2 years. We wanted to move to a small community and so we were both excited to be offered jobs here. We are both originally from Kenya. I am completing a Masters in Ministry and I work full time as a nurse at Mudgee Hospital. My goal is to work as a School Chaplain.
Marion: We are both really passionate about the courses we are doing. We feel it is a calling. I am studying a Diploma of Counselling and I work full time as a Disability Support Worker.
CUC: How important is having the CUC in your local town to you and why?
Marion: CUC Mudgee Region is absolutely fantastic. The equipment is worldclass.
David: From the computers, being able to print assignments, to having secure internet. We really do have everything we need.
Marion: The facility is quiet and clean and safe, which is very important.
David: The hardest part for us is balancing working full time and studying with high course loads, but the support from the management makes all the difference and it all works really well.
