Student Story – Olivia Hart

Qualification: Masters of Speech Pathology

Why did you choose your degree and what do you enjoy the most about it?
When I was younger, my grandmother was very ill and she had to see a speech pathologist. I saw first hand how important it was, and thought that it was a pretty cool job. I now work with people of all ages, and particularly with young children, which I really love.

What has been your learning journey to date?
I am really enjoying the study. A Masters is a lot of work, but we also get to do a lot of practical work. UTS is a great program and my course coordinator is very supportive.

How important is having the CUC in your local town to you and why?
I live in Sydney, but I am currently on practical placement here in Mudgee working at the local school. Having the CUC here is the reason why I chose to do the practicum in Mudgee. We do not have an office or space to study at work, so CUC Mudgee is the only place I can come to study and prepare my work. The facilities are great and it’s a quiet place to focus on my study.
