300 students at CUC Mudgee Region

Country Universities Centre Mudgee Region has registered its 300th student since opening in early 2024.

Mudgee sits at the heart of a beautiful winemaking region in Central West NSW, but like most country towns struggles to attract qualified professionals in areas such as teaching and health. The solution was establishing a study centre to support locals studying online – a ‘grow your own’ approach to building the workforce.

Many students now say they couldn’t have done it without the CUC. The Centre provides reliable technology and a supportive community of students and staff, but what students value most is having a focused study space away from the distractions of home.

The Centre’s impact is beginning to be felt in the community. CUC users are graduating and entering the workforce, and the younger demographic of registered students is growing now that Mudgee has support for online study.
