Since opening in March 2024, CUC Mudgee Region has provided support to more than 240 students studying a wide range of degrees through many different universities and training organisations across Australia. We registered our 200^th student within 18 months of opening, which clearly demonstrates the need for a facility that supports regional higher education students.

The Centre gives local young people the opportunity to progress from High School into tertiary education without having to leave the region, and for those already in the workforce or with family a space without distractions where they can study remotely and work towards new career ambitions.

We are grateful for the support received from the Australian Government Department of Education, NSW State Government, Mid-Western Regional Council, Glencore, ACEN Australia, and Peabody Energy, which has been instrumental in seeding our growth. However, to continue offering our facilities and excellent support service offering to the region’s community for free we need ongoing financial support.

We know that students who study locally are more likely to engage in the local workforce, providing businesses with new opportunities to employ highly trained professionals. We also know that those living in country areas are half as likely to obtain a degree compared to their metropolitan counterparts – and this gap is widening. For these reasons alone, the success of CUC Mudgee Region is vital for the sustainability of the Mudgee Region.

All contributions help fund the Centre’s daily operation, GUARANTEEING that our region’s students will ALWAYS have a dedicated space to study remotely for FREE.
